A lease proposal extension is a document which puts down the terms highlighting the extension of a lease from the present lease period to a longer duration. Sometimes a tenant may have to stay in the same house for a few months more or he may want to extend the lease at the end of general lease term. The extended version of the lease may or may not include any new terms but if it does, the new conditions must be mentioned clearly, such as the new rent amount, the new term of the lease duration and so on. Some proposals may also mention the reason for the extension of the lease.

- The lease terms shall be extended from March 1, 2012 to August 1, 2012 at the request of the lessee
- The rent for the extended period shall be $1200 instead of the current $1000 per month
- No additional security deposit needs to be paid
- All other terms and conditions remain same as in the previous lease proposal
